Shared calendar not showing on iPhone but will on desktop

What a PITA?   Shared my google calendar with wife and she can see it on calendar.google.com but no on iphone.
Found this support item that resolved the issue.

Have you enabled sync for your Google calendars in the settings for Google's Calendar app? It's in the menu, Settings, go to the account and click "Show More" if you don't see it there, click the calendar name and toggle the sync button.
